WHO I WORK WITH
If you get to know me, you will learn that my hobbies and interests are all over the place, but that’s why I love my job! As a college student, I switched between business, Russian, German, political science, and even considered art, design, and exercise science as potential careers. I love working with small businesses because I get to think about and help out in multiple industries everyday. Awesome right!? While I do help everyone and anyone with taxes, my primary focus is on small business owners, specially creatives and digital nomads.
SMALL BIZ CREATIVES
I love working with creatives for two reasons. (1) They’re amazing clients. Photographers, designers, coaches, event planners, and all of the other creativepreneurs out there are so inspiring. It’s amazing to turn one’s creative passion into a business, and I get to help them do that! (2) Working with creatives, I help make the world a better place by helping my clients share their gifts with others.
how i help creatives
I work with people in different creative industries. I understand their businesses. I get the complications regarding sales tax for interior designers, how to best prevent client scope creep in planning and graphic design contracts, and I know the importance of copyright for a budding artist. It’s immensely helpful to understand my clients business models, systems, and industries when I’m advising on business entities, contracts, IP, and taxes.
For a moment, I thought I wanted to be a diplomat. Then, I thought international business seemed cool. Turns out, I’m academically more interested in domestic law. However, I have found a niche in flexing my brain full of all that international tax I learned in law school through helping U.S. citizen live their dreams exploring the world.
what i can do for digital nomads
I frequently do tax consulting for digital nomads. On the first day of my international tax class, my professor told us that the U.S. has the most complex tax system in the world and that international tax was one of the most difficult niche areas. He wasn’t kidding. Planning for taxes while living abroad is daunting. Couple that issue with banking concerns, FATCA issues, bookkeeping, and normal legal issues, and become a nomad can be quite overwhelming. I work with nomads on the regular, so I can help you out with each of these issues.
